The latest edition of the European Tropical Forest Network’s ETFRN News, financed by the Dutch government and produced in collaboration with Tropenbos International, focuses on the drylands.
John Livingstone was a member of the editorial committee and contributed to the introductory synthesis paper. Amsale Shibeshi contributed to an article on PENHA’s experience with prosopis control in Somaliland. PENHA’s involvement supports the establishment of a new Ethiopia country programme with Tropenbos International. Dryland trees account for over 60% of carbon sequestration in Ethiopia, and this will be a new focus for policymakers.
This ETFRN book, with its clear exposition, will be a valuable tool for academics, students, practitioners and policymakers.
